Valves & Dampers
SBCCO-China supplies butterfly, gate, globe, ball, check, control and safety valves, knife-gate and slurry valves, and FRP dampers for smelter and flue-gas duty — in cast, forged and lined constructions to API, ANSI, DIN and JIS, PMI-verified, pressure-tested and tagged to your line list before shipment.
01 / What we supply
What we supply
Valves are ordered by tag number and installed by someone who was not there when they were bought. Everything we do to them in China is aimed at that moment.

Butterfly Valves
Concentric, double- and triple-offset butterfly valves to API 609, DN50 to DN3000, with EPDM, NBR, PTFE or metal seats — lever, gearbox or actuated.

Gate Valves
Rising and non-rising stem gate valves to API 600 and API 603, cast and forged bodies in WCB, CF8M, duplex and alloy, Class 150 through Class 1500.

Globe Valves
Straight, angle and Y-pattern globe valves for throttling duty, with bolted or pressure-seal bonnets and Stellite-faced seats where the service demands it.

Ball Valves
Floating and trunnion-mounted ball valves to API 6D, two- and three-piece bodies, soft or metal seated, fire-safe to API 607 where required.

Check Valves
Swing, dual-plate, lift and nozzle check valves, with damping options for pump discharge lines that are subject to slam.

Control Valves
Globe, eccentric plug and segmented ball control valves with characterised trim, pneumatic actuators and positioners, sized against your process conditions rather than the line size.

Safety & Relief Valves
Spring-loaded and pilot-operated pressure relief valves sized to API 520 and API 526, set on a calibrated bench and issued with a signed set-pressure record.

Ventilation & Guillotine Dampers
Butterfly, louvre and guillotine dampers for gas, air and dust service in carbon steel, stainless or lined construction, with seal-air arrangements on request.

Temperature Control Valves
Three-way and self-acting temperature regulating valves for cooling water, heat-recovery and jacket service.

FRP Dampers
Corrosion-resistant FRP dampers and isolation blades for smelter off-gas, scrubber and flue-gas duty, where coated steel simply does not survive the service.
02 / Specification
What we can build, in numbers.
If your duty falls outside this envelope, say so in the enquiry — we will tell you honestly whether it is something our shops should be building.

03 / How we control it
Valves are where cheap sourcing gets found out.
A valve looks finished long before it is. The body casting, the trim material, the seat and the test are four separate opportunities to substitute something cheaper — and none of them are visible once the valve is painted and boxed. This is the product line where inspection earns its fee outright.
PMI on the trim, not only the body
Positive material identification is carried out on the body, the bonnet, the stem and the trim. Substituted trim is the single most common defect we find in Chinese valves, and it cannot be seen without putting a gun on the part.
We witness the pressure test, at the correct pressure and duration
Shell and seat tests to API 598, with the gauge calibration certificate checked and the hold time actually timed. A test cut short because a queue is waiting is not a test.
Actuators are sized on real torque
Break-to-open torque with the actual seat and the actual differential pressure, not the catalogue figure at the ideal condition. Undersized actuators are the second most common problem we intercept.
Valves are tagged to your line list before crating
Each valve carries your tag number, is packed against your line list, and is photographed with the tag visible. Sorting valves on site is a cost we can remove while they are still in China.
04 / Questions
Valves & dampers — common questions
Can you supply API-monogrammed valves with third-party certification?
Yes. We supply from works holding the relevant API licence, name the works and its licence number in the quotation, and will arrange BV, TÜV, SGS or Lloyd’s witness of the shell, seat and fire-safe testing.
Can you match an existing valve so it drops into the same line?
Yes. Send the tag number, face-to-face dimension, flange rating, body and trim materials and the actuator arrangement. We confirm face-to-face compliance with ANSI B16.10 or with the as-built dimension, in writing, before you place the order.
What about severe slurry or acid service?
Rubber-, polyurethane- and ceramic-lined knife-gate and pinch valves for slurry; PTFE-, PFA- and lined-body valves for acid. We select against your concentration and temperature and state the service limits in the quotation.
Do you supply actuated packages ready to install?
Yes — valve, actuator, positioner, solenoid, limit switches, filter regulator and mounting kit, assembled, stroked and tested as a unit, with a signed stroke test record in the data book.
What happens when a valve fails the test?
It is repaired and re-tested, or rejected. Either way you are told. We do not quietly ship a valve that passed on the second attempt without recording that it did.
Send the valve list. We will price it line by line.
Upload a valve schedule, a data sheet or a photograph of the valve you are replacing, and we will come back with materials, testing scope, actuation, lead time and a price against each tag.
